Confidentiality and Release of Information
We take confidentiality very seriously. All evaluation and treatment information is confidential
and can only be released to specified individuals or agencies with your written release. New
Jersey law dictates some important exceptions to confidentiality. A patient presenting with
imminent danger to self/others is one such exception. Confidentiality with adolescents (fourteen
and older) is a sensitive issue that must take into consideration the child's developmental need
for privacy with the parents' right to be informed of their child's course of treatment. We are
committed to finding the best balance.
Insurance
We are not a party to any arrangements you make with your insurance provider. Therefore, for
your protection, we strongly recommend that you contact your insurance provider each and every
time you are planning to initiate or add a type of treatment and/treatment provider to your
treatment plan. You are responsible to clarify in advance of the need for a PreAuthorization or
PreCertification. Because insurance carriers change their policies frequently, we encourage you
to avoid confusion by making regular calls to them.
Patient/Family Concerns
Our aim is to provide you with the highest quality care in a pleasant and professional
atmosphere. If you have concerns about any aspect of our services, please feel free to contact
Joan Lavender, Psy. D., Practice Manager, at 973-533-1195 Extension 20.
