Danielle Wiesen, Psy. D.
|
Danielle Wiesen, Psy. D. is a graduate of Yeshiva University School-Clinical
Child Psychology program. Dr. Wiesen specializes in the assessment and treatment of
preschool, elementary, and adolescent age children. She completed her internship at
the Audrey Children Hepburn House at Hackensack Hospital where she developed her
skills in forensic psychology as well as in the treatment of abused and neglected
children and families. As a school psychologist for several years, Dr. Wiesen was
a member of district child study teams, where she conducted Psychological Evaluations,
developed individual educational plans, diagnosed learning disabilities, managed
crisis intervention, and ran social skills, anger management, and insight groups.
Dr. Wiesen’s therapeutic approach with children utilizes play therapy, bibliotherapy,
and cognitive-behavioral techniques. She has an expertise in evaluating cognitive,
and social-emotional functioning in preschool, elementary, adolescent, and college
age children. She is skilled in interpersonal, play, family systems psychotherapy
for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Dr. Wiesen will be seeing
children and their families in psychotherapy. She will provide psychoeducational
testing. Dr. Wiesen will be providing group therapy and is serving as Coordinator
of our Group Therapy Program.
